Soft Tissue Grafting

Soft tissue grafts are often recommended to cover exposed roots which are unpleasing to the eye or sensitive to hot or cold.  Exposed root or gingival recession if often caused by over zealous brushing habits, misaligned teeth, oral habits, or merely thin tissue.

Here is an example of a tooth that has undergone recession due to misalignment and is very sensitive to hot and cold.  Following treatment, no sensitivity remained.

Here is another example of a woman with an alarming amount of recession.  She was concerned that she might lose her tooth.  Following therapy she was quite pleased.
